Brussels

The central square of Brussels’ Old Town, known as the Grand Place or Grote Markt, is just a 10-minute walk from our hotel. First established in the 11th century as a marketplace surrounded by Guild Halls, the Grand Place is one of the most well-preserved plazas in Europe. Most of the impressive Baroque style buildings surrounding it were raised in the 17th.

The oldest remaining building is the historical Town Hall from the early 15th century. Its exterior is decorated with 137 replicas of statues showing important people from the history of Brussels. You can find the original statues in the nearby City Museum.

Your hotel near Manneken Pis

Brussels’ most famous tourist attraction is a small bronze statue named Manneken Pis – the “Little Pissing Man”. It shows a naked boy who appears to be urinating into a fountain. For holidays, he gets dressed up in various costumes. The 900 outfits are on display in the City Museum. The current statue was made in 1916, though previous iterations have been in place since at least 1388.

A 5-minute walk from the Grand Place, Manneken Pis is close to our hotel and in easy walking distance. Nearby you will find other sights such as the Brussels Cathedral, the Mont des Arts and the Comic Strip Center.
